The Trigger Grub™ is Baxter’s Baits’ twin-tail soft-plastic creature/grub designed for maximum versatility.

Its compact ribbed body provides a solid hook-holding platform while the two broad curl tails generate action with very little rod movement.

Depending on how you rig and retrieve it, the Trigger Grub can suggest:

Crawfish • Goby • Bluegill • Aquatic creature • Bottom forage

But it doesn’t have to perfectly imitate anything.

This may be the Trigger Grub’s strongest presentation.

Thread it onto a football jig and fish:

Rock • Points • Humps • Gravel • Ledges • Hard-bottom transitions

Try:

Drag → Pause → Hop → Pause

During the pause, allow the tails to settle naturally.

Then move it again.

That sudden burst of twin-tail movement can Trigger the bite.

Rig the Trigger Grub behind a:

1/8 oz • 3/16 oz • 1/4 oz • 3/8 oz

bullet weight depending on depth and cover.

Excellent around:

Grass • Wood • Docks • Rock • Brush • Weed edges

Pitch it.

Let it fall.

Hop it once or twice.

Then let it sit.

🥉 CAROLINA RIG

The twin tails make the Trigger Grub an excellent Carolina-rig bait.

Use it across:

Points • Flats • Gravel • Offshore grass • Rock transitions

The leader gives the bait room to swim, flutter and settle naturally behind the weight.

🎯 FREE RIG

The Trigger Grub is especially interesting on a free rig because the bait can separate from the weight during the fall.

That allows the twin tails to:

Flutter • Swim • Pulse • Glide

before the bait reaches bottom.

In clear water or around pressured bass, that different fall can be the Trigger.

Use it behind:
