BAXTER’S BAITS TRIGGER SPIKE™

Thick Body. Fine Point. One Sharp Trigger.™

One body. Multiple presentations. Endless ways to Trigger the bite.

The Baxter’s Baits Trigger Spike™ combines a thick, rounded body with a long, sharply tapered tail engineered for subtle movement and serious versatility.

The substantial front section provides excellent casting weight, hook-holding strength and a solid target for feeding bass. Behind it, the fine spike tail quivers, pivots and responds to the smallest movement of your rod, line or current.

Shake it.

Drag it.

Suspend it.

Then stop—and let the Spike do the work.

WHAT DOES IT IMITATE?

The Trigger Spike can suggest a:

Minnow • Goby • Leech • Worm • Aquatic larva • Bottom-dwelling creature

Bass don’t have to identify it.

They only have to react to it.

WHY IT WORKS

Most finesse plastics use the same thickness from one end to the other.

The Trigger Spike doesn’t.

Its thick body gives the bait presence, while the extended taper creates a delicate finish that moves without excessive action or water displacement.

That combination makes it ideal for:

  • Clear water
  • Pressured bass
  • Cold fronts
  • Deep structure
  • Suspended fish
  • Tough tournament conditions
  • Largemouth and smallmouth bass

BUILT FOR MULTIPLE RIGS

DROPSHOT

Nose-hook the thick end and allow the tapered spike to move freely. Hold it in place, add a slight quiver and let the tail work.

NEKO RIG

Insert a nail weight into the thick end. The weighted section contacts bottom while the spike pivots and moves above it.

SHAKY HEAD

Drag it across rock, gravel and hard-bottom transitions. Stop and allow the tapered end to remain alive during the pause.

WEIGHTLESS TEXAS RIG

Pitch it around grass, docks and wood. Its uneven profile creates a subtle glide and natural fall.

WACKY RIG

Hook it through the thicker center section for an intentionally unbalanced shimmy.

FREE RIG

Allow the weight to fall ahead of the bait. The Trigger Spike follows with a delayed, subtle descent that pressured bass rarely see.

WHERE TO FISH IT

Fish the Trigger Spike around:

Rock piles • gravel transitions • grass edges • dock posts • laydowns • stumps • points • humps • bluff walls • offshore structure • suspended fish

From shallow cover to deep, clear reservoirs, the Trigger Spike can stay tied on throughout the entire season.

CHOOSE YOUR COLOR

GREEN PUMPKIN PURPLE/GREEN

A premium clear-water combination for pressured largemouth and smallmouth. Natural green pumpkin is accented by purple and blue-green flashes as the bait changes angle.

GREEN PUMPKIN BLUE

A natural goby-and-baitfish color for clear to moderately clear water, rock and deeper vegetation.

GREEN PUMPKIN PURPLE

A subtle clear-water confidence color with restrained purple flash. Excellent in bright conditions and heavily pressured fisheries.

GREEN PUMPKIN RED/BLACK

A crawfish-oriented color for grass, wood, moderate stain, cloudy skies, prespawn bass and the fall crawfish bite.

BAXTER’S RIGGING RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Dropshot: Size 1–1/0 hook
  • Neko rig: 1/32–3/32 oz nail weight
  • Shaky head: 1/16–1/4 oz
  • Texas rig: Light-wire 2/0–3/0 hook
  • Line: 6–10 lb fluorocarbon for finesse applications

Use the lightest practical hook and weight for the conditions. The less you overpower the bait, the more naturally the spike can move.

THE BAXTER’S DIFFERENCE

The Trigger Spike isn’t limited to one technique or one season.

It can catch suspended smallmouth in clear water, largemouth buried along grass edges, cold-water bass holding near rock and pressured tournament fish that have stopped responding to conventional worms.
